Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig (SKG) is pleased to offer a bursary ($2000) to an upper year Anishinabe student who wishes to proceed to a program of graduate study in the field of law and demonstrates an understanding of the foundational principles of Anishinabe law, governance and treaty-making. The $2,000 bursary aims to mitigate financial barriers, enhance access to continued studies and support future Anishinabe lawyers and leaders.
o Candidates must self-identify as having Anishinabe identity and/or heritage (inclusive of all First Nation, Métis, Inuit applicants regardless of status)
o You must have completed or be enrolled in Anishinabe Studies 3006 Government Acts & Policies and/or Anishinabe Studies 3007 Treaties course(s).
o You must have proposed plans to attend graduate study in the field of law.
o You must submit a letter that outlines your current program of study and academic career aspirations.
